2019 SPATIAL GEOMETRIC ABSTRACTION
FROM MEIER BRIDGE TO THE CUTTICA MUSEUM: SOLO ART EXHIBITION BY ANTONIO SAPORITO AT CUTTICA PALACE, ALESSANDRIA
From 4 July 2019 to 4 August 2019 the solo art exhibition of Master Antonio Saporito will be held at the Cuttica Palace in Alessandria: ASTRATTISMO GEOMETRICO SPAZIALE (SPATIAL GEOMETRIC ABSTRACTION)
A great emotion for Alessandria town and for all those who had the privilege of attending last year, at the inauguration of the installation of the big spatial sculpture "Il Pianeta Marte" (Planet Mars) located near Meier Bridge in Alessandria.
Curated by the Special Multiservice Company Costruire Insieme (Building Together) with the sponsorship of the Cassa di Risparmio di Alessandria Foundation and the City of Alessandria, this important solo art exhibition will present some of the most significant artworks from the last period of Antonio Saporito's artistic career.
These are artworks that refer essentially to geometric space art, a search for original and unique space, a recurring theme in the artistic curriculum of this contemporary, innovative and multifaceted abstract sculptor and painter, active in Turin since the 1970s
Continuously searching for the unknowable, for the future, for the unparalleled mystery of man, slabs of steel, aluminum, copper and lead are wisely transformed into labyrinths of signs carved to allow to see what is revealed beyond matter. The rigor and essence that characterize these geometric space artworks are the elements that transcend reality and allow us to scan what exists behind appearance.
The exhibition will be open to the public on Saturday and Sunday, from 3 to 7 pm and the inauguration will see the participation of local authorities and art critic Giorgia Cassini who already contributed to the inauguration of the sculpture "Il Pianeta Marte".
SMALL COMMENT ON SPATIALISM ART MOVEMENT
UFO FROM SPACE lead, 2015, aluminum and acrylic on masonite, 40 x 50 cm
Ufo From Space (Ufo Dallo Spazio) is part of collection of geometric abstract art paintings on space ufology, flying saucers and space machines. The idea of these artworks concretizes my fascination with spatialism, spatial art, the idea of the beyond and the search for space.
Why Ufo from space? Because incessantly we want to discover new forms of life, new spaces. Man and history have never stopped, at least with the idea of creativity of thinking beyond. Imagine if new creatures arrived what scenarios would they open? From this idea these artworks are born.
